About our puppies

Our puppies are raised in our home.

Born in the living room, mum and her babies then move to our bedroom where they spend the first three weeks of their lives. This way we can check on mum and her babies several times at night. 

During the day we continuously check on them and we also have puppy cams connected to our phones, mum and her babies are never far from us.

At three weeks pups want to get up and go potty. At this stage we set them up in our living room in a larger puppy pen with washable puppy pads, they quickly get the hang of using the pads.

Suncube pups are smart little cuties. We are frequently complimented on how the transition from us to their homes goes so smoothly and how clever and easy they were to train to keep using the pads or going out to potty.

From this age they start their socialising, meeting all other household members, including the other dogs and being handled and loved on by all of us. 

When they are comfortable on their feet they start to get out to play with mummy then progress to playing with the other dogs.

We believe this is a key stage of training pups. Our pups are NEVER left in a puppy pen all day, training them is an important stage of our puppy programme. 

The pups learn good behaviour at this stage from mum and the other dogs and experience life as it should be. Out enjoying themselves and socialising in a safe secure garden.

From 7 weeks we start their puppy vaccinations and their first veterinary puppy checks from our trusted vets, who know us very well, who have visited our homes and can vouch for how well our dogs and cats are cared for.

At 10 weeks they finish their puppy vaccinations and have their final veterinary puppy check.

Puppies leave for their new homes at 12 weeks of age Happy, healthy and socialised. This is where you take over but are never on your own, Suncube Maltese are here to help and advise throughout the dogs life.

We are contacted frequently by Maltese dog owners for advice, even if we never bred their Maltese. We are happy and grateful that Maltese owners feel they can ask us for help.
